BIKING LARES 2d/1n urubamba Cusco Peru
A 2-day excursion through the awesome area of Lares, its typical Andean communities and its relaxing hot springs.
Day 1: Cusco - Lares
We will pick you up from your hotel and take our private transportation towards the Lares mountain pass (4,470 masl / 2,5h). We will start cycling at this point, through a purely downhill trail and for an approximated 3h and 24 km., being able to choose between a road or an Inca trail (drop: approx. 1,300 meters / level: 2-5). We will stop on the way to have lunch at Pampacorral, and in the afteroon go on to Lares. Upon arrival at this little village, we will set up camp on the grounds of the open air hot springs, where we will be able to enjoy a relaxing bath.
Day 2: Lares - Calca - Cusco
We will leave our camp after breakfast and be transferred to the Abra de Lares again, now to cycle back to Calca in the Sacred Valley incas. Our bike ride will take an approximated 2 – 3 hours, through a downhill trail of 1,600m following either the road class 2+ or the Inca trail class 4, crossing alpaca fields and small country villages. We will stop for lunch at Totora mountain pass and then follow down to Calca. From Calca, we will take our private transportation and drive back to Cusco.
