Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world. It covers an area of 8,560 square meters and maximums depth of 227 meters. It has 36 islands, of which the most important are Taquile, Amataní, Anapia and Uros .The chullpas de silluntani are located on the banks of the umayo lagoon. They are circular towers varying in height from 10to 13 meters which were used as tombs for noble Aymara.
