Day 1 .- Lima - Arequipa
Day 2 .- Colca Canyon
Day 3 .- Colca Canyon
Day 4.- Arequipa - Puno
Day 5.- Titicaca Lake
Day 6 .- Titicaca Lake
Big blue sky, vast expanses of water and fascinating island cultures
await at Lake Titicaca. Spend the night as guests of local families
and get an insight into life on the altiplano.
Day 7 .- Puno - Cuzco
Enjoy a spectacular day's travel from Puno, the highest point of this
adventure, to Cuzco. Watch the vast altiplano, with its mountain
backdrop and, roll by.
Day 8 .- Sacred Valley
The lush fertile plains of the Sacred Valley, a rarity in the high
Andes, have supplied Cuzco with produce since ancient times.
Travelling down the valley, stop by the pretty village of Pisac, famed
for its colourful artisan markets and Inca citadel. After stocking up
on coloured beads and ponchos, continue on to Ollantaytambo, one of
the few surviving examples of the impeccable Incan urban planning.
Wander among the gigantic stone terraces to fortress ruins perched
high above the river.
Days 09/12 .- Inca trail
Take an incredible journey along the ancient trail of the Incas. Trek
through mountain scenery, lush cloud forest and past ancient ruins to
the extraordinary 'lost city' of Machu Picchu. The going can be tough
at times, but is all made worthwhile by the sight of the fabled Incan
temples at sunrise on the fourth morning.
Day 13 .- Cuzco city – tour around Cusco
Colorful and exciting, Cuzco offers a wealth of historical sites -
layer upon layer. Beneath, beside and even within the beautiful
Spanish colonial architecture remain extraordinary reminders of the
Incan Empire. See worlds collide at the Coricancha complex or head to
the massive fortress of Sacsayhuaman that looms over the city.
Days 14/17 .- Amazon jungle
Head to the jungle to experience one of the world's most dynamic
ecosystems, with its enormous range of wildlife including monkeys,
anacondas and exotic birds.
Days 18 .- Lima
Leave the jungle and return to civilization. For a change of pace,
head down to Mira Flores to wander among the up market boutiques or
watch the surf crashing on the sand below from the cliff top walkway.
