Itinerary
Day 1 :Arrive to Lima
Transfer to the Hotel (B) HOTEL.
Day 2 :Lima - Paracas
We will travel 280 km south along the Panamerican highway along the desert coast through fertile irrigated valleys where farmers grow cotton, asparagus, and other crops. In the afternoon we will visit Paracas National Park, which was once home to the culture of the same name, seeing one of the world's most beautiful desert landscapes and visiting the small fishing ports of the area. The park is the natural habitat of seals, pelicans, seagulls and many other species... (B) HOTEL.
Day 3 :Paracas - Nasca
In the morning we go to the harbor to take the boat that will carry us to Ballestas Islands, famous for guano or manure and their native fauna which has given them the name of the Peruvian Galapagos. On the islands thousands of seals, sea lions, sea birds, Humboldt penguins exist. After this 2 hour tour we continue by road to Nasca, visiting the regional museum at Ica and the oasis of Huacachina, surrounded by one hundred meter high sand dunes. Arriving in Nasca, we will be transferred to our hotel. (B) HOTEL.
Day 4 :Nasca
In the morning we will have the opportunity to fly over the famous Nazca lines and in the afternoon visit archaeological sites like Chauchilla cemetery and the Inca aqueducts that still carry water from the Andes to irrigate this desert region.
Day 5 :Nasca - Arequipa
We will have the opportunity to fly over the famous Nazca lines on an optional excursion before driving almost 600 k.m south to Arequipa. After 6 or 7 hours we will begin to climb up into the foothills of the Andes to Arequipa at 2,400 meters above sea level. Transfer to hotel (B) HOTEL.
Day 6 :Arequipa – Juliaca - Puno
In the morning we will tour Peru's third largest city visiting the Santa Catalina convent, the cathedral, the Jesuit church and the modern city surrounded by fertile fields hemmed in by the high desert and the Andes. That afternoon we return to Arequipa airport for our flight to Juliaca, from where we will be transferred to our hotel in Puno (B) HOTEL.
Day 7 :Uros - Taquile
In the early morning we will board the vessel that will take us across the highest sailable lake in the world to visit the floating Uros islands. After to enjoy this amazing place we will go by boat to the Taquile Island then we will return to puno. (B/L)HOTEL.
Day 8 :Puno - Cusco
In the morning we will board the bus that will take us to the imperial city of Cusco. On the way we will visit the ruins left by the pre-Inca Pukara civilization, and cross the high pass at 4,328 meters before descending into fertile valleys and visiting the famous temple of Wiracocha near Raqchi before arriving in Cusco. Day 9 :Cusco - City Tour and four Inca sites
On the morning we will visit the famous Inca capital, seeing its colonial churches and Inca remains like Qoricancha, the temple of the sun. We will also go on foot to the San Blas district to visit its famous craft shops. In the afternoon we will visit the ruins of SaQsahuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambo Machay, before returning to our hotel in the evening. (B/)HOTEL.
Day 10 :Amazing Sacred Valley Tour
In the morning we will travel by private bus to one of the most famous natural and archaeological attractions in Peru, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After a 30 k.m drive we arrive at the colorful Andean market of Pisaq. Here we will also visit the Inca ruins high above the village. In the afternoon we will continue 45 k.m along the valley to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, before returning to our hotel in Urubamba. (B/L)HOTEL.
Day 11 :Urubamba - Machupicchu overnight
In the morning we will return to Ollantaytambo from where we will take the train to Machu Picchu. We will visit this magnificent citadel in the company of an expert guide before returning to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night at a local hotel. (B/L)HOTEL.
Day 12 :Machupicchu - Cusco
This is a free day for individual exploration of Machu Picchu or an optional short trek to Inti Punku (the Sun Gate which is the entrance to Machu Picchu), and an ascent of Wayna Picchu. That afternoon we will return by train to Cusco. Transfer to hotel. (B)HOTEL.
Day 13 :Chinchero - Maras - Moray
In the morning we will travel to Chinchero, the site of the rebellion led by Manco I against the Spanish. After visiting the ruins there we will continue on to Maras, to the salt mines that have been exploited since pre-Inca times and are still used today. The mines themselves are fascinating and the surrounding countryside is very beautiful. From there we will visit the archaeological complex at Moray, a series of circular agricultural terraces built by the Incas. and used as experimental agricultural terraces. (B/L)HOTEL.
Day 14 :Cusco free day
A day for exploring Cusco. (B) HOTEL.
Day 15 :Cusco - Lima City and Gold Museum
Early in the morning we will be transferred to Cusco airport for our flight to Peru's capital, Lima. Our tour through historic and modern Lima will take us to the Cathedral, San Francisco church and the Gold Museum. Transfer to airport. End of service.
