Hiking in the Amazing Colca Canyon 4D / 3N Cusco Peru

Itinerary

Day 1 River Colca and the River Huaruro

Passengers will be picked up from their respective hotels at 6:00am, for taking a public bus to the town of Cabanaconde (3,230m) (approximately 6 hours). Upon arrival we will have lunch in a local restaurant before the beginning of our descent into the Canyon, After five hours walking we will arrive at the first community of Llahuar, where the River Colca and the River Huaruro meet. Here we can enjoy the thermal baths and watch the geysers, we can also fish along the river. We will spend our first night here.

Day 2 We will arrive at the camp in a small village

We will get up very early to have breakfast and continue our walk, today we will visit the ancient town of Llatica (2,438m), and a series of beautiful places. The inhabitants of the canyon collect cochineal.
We will arrive at the camp in a small village called Fure (2,758m), a beautiful oasis after around 5 hours walking. We will have lunch here and after a short rest we will head to the beautiful Cataratas de Huaruro (80m high waterfall), as well as the falls of the River Tocallo. We will return to Fure and spend our second night in comfortable cabins.

Day 3 Sangalle

Today we will go to the community of Sangalle after walking for four hours we will arrive at Sangalle (Oasis). Here we will have lunch and a free afternoon to enjoy swimming in the pool (24ºC) and exploring the surroundings.
After 4 hours of rest and relaxation we will climb the southern slope of the Colca Canyon to arrive at the ancient town of Cabanaconde (3 hours walking), where we will have dinner and spend our third night.

Day 4 Cruz Del Condor Reserve

We will get up at 6am to have breakfast and we will then take a local bus at 7am to the Cruz Del Condor Reserve. Here we can observe the fascinating flight of the condor as well as the depth of the canyon. After about an hour we will take the 9am bus to the district of Chivay, where we can enjoy the natural baths of La Calera's medicinal, thermal waters of 35ºC.
We will then have time for lunch and will afterwards return to the White City, where we will arrive at around 4.30pm. You will then be transferred back to your hotel.
