No custom Peru vacation, or indeed trip to South America, is complete without seeing that deservedly hyped New World Wonder, Machu Picchu, the ancient Inca city set high aloft in the Andes Mountains. The wonderment continues at Peru’s other intriguing locales: at the mysterious Nazca Lines, for instance; or at the grand, shimmering expanse of Lake Titicaca; the primordial landscapes of the Amazon rainforest; or the thoroughly modern urban environs of Lima, the gastronomic capital of the Americas. Travelers on our customized tours of Peru never fail to be amazed by the sights, the level of service and – above all – the warm and genuine welcome they receive. Whether you’re going on a family getaway or a luxury trip to Peru for two, you’re bound to enjoy exciting.

Day 1: Cusco City Tour, Sacsayhuaman, and Nearby Archeological Sites
You arrive in the city of Cusco and are taken to your hotel, where the rest of the morning is free time to rest and to acclimate yourself to the elevation. The afternoon is set aside for a tour of the incredible colonial city, whose buildings the Spanish constructed on top of the foundations of Incan palaces. You begin at the Korikancha, the Temple of the Sun, to witness the exquisite stone work achieved by the Incas. Next stop is the Main Square for a tour of the Cathedral to see its fabulous wood carvings and impressive altars and the lovely Church of La Compañia de Jesus (Society of Christ). Following that, you head upwards to Sacsayhuaman, a fortress located in a strategic spot high above the city with a view that is absolutely stunning. You will also visit some other archaeological complexes such as Kenko and Tambomachay*, and you will have a panoramic view of Puca Pucara. Accomodations for the night in Cusco. .(B)

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas – Inca´s Balcony and Ollantaytambo Aguas calientes .
After pickup from your hotel, your first stop is in the Andean village of Chinchero. Here, you'll take in mountain views, visit the main square and see an ancient church with unique floral and religious interior designs. Next, off the beaten path to the small town of Maras. This village is known as a former salt-producing center that dates back all the way to colonial time From there, you'll head to the fascinating display of terraces in Moray, located only about 2 miles (4 km) from Maras. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. After visiting Moray, we take a lunch break at Tunupa restaurant. Once full of delicious food, you'll be ready for the next part of the day trip; we continue on the tour to Ollantaytambo, home to a magnificent Inca fortress that you can explore. This historic fortress was where Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle against the Inca Empire. After you visit the fortress, you'll have time to walk around the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo before heading to Aguas Clientes. Overnight at aguas calientes.(B,L,D)

Day 4.- Tipon, Pikillacta  & Andawaylillas
This tour is known for combining beautiful natural landscapes, Inca architecture in Tipon, pre - Inca Wari architecture in Pikillacta and a beautiful chapel, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America"
The southern area of Cusco played a very important role in the development of the great Inca state. This started with the emigration towards the south (Peruvian altiplano) which made possible the occupation of the valley of Cusco, the first inhabitants were the Marcavalles who are considered as the oldest human civilization (1000 B.C) and who occupied the area of the same name, the Omas occupied the district of San Jeronimo and the Wari-Chankas, who made great gains in terms of irrigation and urban planning. This development can be seen at two archeological sites. We will enjoy our lunch on the way back to Cusco, to finish our tour at Andahuaylillas, a picturesque Andean town where the San Pedro church is found, known as the Sistine Chapel of America due to its impressive paintings and murals.
Tipon: Tipon is said to be a royal garden commissioned by Wiracocha. It is one of the most elaborate examples of agricultural terracing created by the Incas. These tall terraces which run up the narrow valley are irrigated by an aqueduct from Pachatusan, the mountain above the site. In addition to the terracing there are also some other structures at Tipon, including baths, a temple complex, canals and aqueducts. Tipon is definitely one of the lesser visited sites in the Cusco area but it is equally as impressive as those in the Sacred Valley. The Tipon Archeological Complex is located 24km southeast of Cusco.
Pikillaqta: Pikillacta is the only pre-Inca site in the Cusco area. This adobe complex was built around 700 to 900 AD by the Huari, in the area, there is a small Inca site just a short walk from Pikillacta, known as Rumicolca, a travel checkpoint for the Incas.Andahuylillas: Here you find the "Sistine Chapel of Peru", a church that is home to golden altars, paintings and many colored ceilings. The chapel is simple and unassuming on the outside, but on the inside you'll find masterpiece after masterpiece. On our return we'll pass Saylla, a typical district of Cusco where people can enjoy the delicious pork chicharrones (optional). We return to Cusco for approximately 4pm.(B,L)
