Experience an unforgettable high‑altitude hike in Peru with our Ausangate 7 Lakes Trek (2 days / 1 night) — a breathtaking Andean adventure nestled within the majestic Ausangate mountain region. This Cusco adventure tour offers the perfect balance between an immersive trek and a compact itinerary, making it ideal for travelers who want to explore the natural wonders of the Andes without committing to a longer expedition.
On day one, you’ll depart from Cusco and journey to the charming village of Pacchanta, where the trek begins. As you hike through alpine meadows and stunning mountain valleys, you’ll feel the power of the Andean landscape and gain altitude, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. By the evening, you’ll reach base camp at one of the crystal-clear glacial lakes, where you’ll rest in cozy mountain cabins and connect with nature under the starlit sky.
Day two brings you deeper into the heart of the region, as you trek through a circuit of seven glacial lakes. These shimmering lagoons — in shades of turquoise and deep blue — create a dreamlike panorama that embodies the beauty of Andean trekking in Peru. Along the way, you'll enjoy expansive views and a profound sense of tranquility. On your return hike, you’ll have the chance to relax in natural hot springs in Pacchanta — a rejuvenating reward for your efforts before you head back to Cusco.
This trek reaches a maximum altitude of around 4,800 meters (15,748 ft), so it’s great for adventurous travelers who are prepared for high-altitude conditions, but it is rated as easy to moderate in difficulty. Our professional, certified local guides ensure your safety and comfort, providing altitude support and cultural insights. We limit group sizes to maintain a personalized and sustainable experience, helping you trek responsibly while supporting local communities.
With Inca Land Adventures, you’ll enjoy quality accommodations (comfortable cabins), delicious mountain meals, and first-aid equipment — all carefully organized with environmental respect and local impact in mind. Whether you're an experienced trekker or a curious traveler, the Ausangate 7 Lakes Trek promises an inspiring journey, blending nature, culture, and adventure.
