

DÍA 3:AUSANGATE QOCHA LAKE AUSANGATE Q’OCHA A QAMPA:
Ausangate Trek 4 Days/3 Nights A Breathtaking High Altitude Adventure in Peru
From the lagoon we ascend again to the Palomani pass (5,200 meters/ 17,056 feet) – the highest point of the trek. From the pass we follow the trail to the valley where we can rest and have lunch. In the afternoon we will be able to appreciate the snow-capped mountains Tres Picos and Punta Puca. We will continue through the wide green valley of Pampa Jutunpata and up the valley of the Q’ampa River. We will spend the third night in this area.
We will wake you up at 05:00 am with coca tea or coffee delivered to your Cabins and you are given a delicious breakfast for the day ahead. In The morning start hiking up to Arapa Pass (4968m) Along the way we are going to observe local farmers and alpacas, Ausangate snow-capped to your left side, and you will have English- a speaking guide explaining about flora, and fauna and talking about the landscape along the trail. if we are lucky we might see condor, chinchillas, and vicuñas. Also, we will enjoy colorful lakes and get to our campsite of Puca Cocha where we are going to be surrounded by high mountains and unbelievable hanging glaciers, watch and hear the glacier crashing into the tarns below! As usual, tents are going to be set up inside the mountain huts for us to change, take a nap, and have our lunch. Since this campsite is close to Puca Cocha Lake, you will go to the lake where you will see many types of ducks, Andean geese, and many other types of birds. Then you will have dinner at our dining room which is built with rocks and mud.

DAY 2:UPIS TO AUSANGATE AUSANGATEQOCHA:
We leave Cusco very early in the morning, pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco and head south-east of the city, approximately three hours drive by private transport to the small village of Tinqui (3800 meters/12,464 feet). We pass through beautiful landscapes and several traditional villages such as Urcos, Cattca and Ocangate. After lunch in Tinqui, we will start the hike where the first 3 hours of the trail will be an unforgettable experience as we cross the mountains in the Cordillera del Vilcanota and if the weather allows us we will be able to see the snow-capped mountain or Apu Ausangate. We will hike for two more hours until we reach the hot springs at Upis (4,400 meters/14,432 feet). We will camp here for the night (4-5 hours of trekking).

DAY 4:Q’AMPA TO PACCHANTA CUSCO
Very early in the morning we will start with the trek where we will pass through the small community of Q’ampa, then we will head northwest to the last pass of this trek – abra Q’ampa (5,000 meters/16,400 feet). Once again we will have the opportunity to observe colorful lagoons and have lunch near 7 lakes the Q’omer Q’ocha lagoon. We will walk for several hours before arriving at the small village of Pacchanta. We can enjoy the hot springs for a couple of hours and even have a well-deserved beer! We will set up camp near Pacchanta and have the afternoon free to explore this interesting Andean village
Notes:
We will climb up to 5200m / 17060f. Combined with the extreme weather this trip can be hard work. We want you to remember this trek with a smile on your face, therefore please make sure you are well acclimatized, fit and healthy.
Since the weather can be very cold and cloudy your clothes once wet will not dry at night.
So take some clothes to change.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
We recommend you bring:
A light day pack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek – prepare for a vast range of changes
in temperature
Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho. Plastic ponchos can be bought for about $1 in Cusco.
Strong footwear, waterproof trekking boots recommended. Extra socks are a must.
Sandals or plastic slip on thongs are also good to give your feet a chance to breath in the evenings if you wish
to carry them.
Warm clothes, including jacket, fleeces, gloves, scarf and beanie. Thermal clothing is also recommended,
especially for sleeping.

We always we take care our hosremans and horses during our alternative treks so tiping it will be the seim as
for the portersBeware of this when booking they might be cheaper because of this!2 people (minimum group size) should have a maximum of 7 porters and 16 people (max group size) should have 22
porters.
** Tips for porters, cooks or guides are optional and are NOT included in our price. However our advice is that
you tip our staff based on their performance, service and knowledge. Our guidelines for tipping our staff is the
following:
Each porter gets 100 Soles, each assistant cook 150 Soles, the Main Chef gets 300 Soles.make sure to tip more if
your trip it is more than 5 days or if it is luxury treks
Assistant Tour guides can be tipped collectively by the members of the group, we suggest a 5% of the total cost
of the tour.
Main guides are tipped on a one on one basis and based on their performance. Tour guides are professional people
who spend a lot of time training in different other fields such archaelogy, history and WFA. We suggest people
to consider tipping our guide a 10% to 15% of the value of your tour.
Train included in all tours is the Expedition train (to Ollanta). Train times will only be confirmed once full
amount of tour is paid. The earliest train you could take is the 2:55 PM and the 9:20 PM being the last train
(high season June to September). We will organize the transport back to Cusco (by taxi or by bus).ZERO PLASTIC BOTTLES ON THE INCA TRAIL AND MACHU PICCHU AUSANGATE TREKS
